tenshi's guide step 1: Read up on roles/jobs/abilities of other members this helps me gauge where the member count stands as well as how many members r in what roles step 2: look at available abilities/classes Helps me think of how I can make character unique but not making them too op or just plain ridiculous step 3: think about history and what abilities may fit it History is a great influence on how the character will b and interaction with others step 4: find reference as close to what I want as possible Mainly to prevent confusion just so everyone will be on the right page step 5: Limiting abilities Think of gauging powers on a tier system based on anime, if the power is ridiculously strong then it gets high drawbacks/recoil and shouldn't b available until a long while into rp if u think it's too strong, don't do it well i tend to have an overactive imagination that when given the ammo can come up with things in a matter of hours sometimes. i made the storyline for a 3 book series in a few hours though not sure if it'd ever b written plus i like helping balance things out, like if there was a knight, archer, and medic class. majority bing knight or archer i'd go medic just to help balance rps better |

How to create a forum character. Creating a forum character is pretty simple - there are just quite a few things you have to consider. These include Your characters name, age and appearance Your characters behaviour, education and history Your faceclaim (If appropiate to the forum you are joining) Your characters magical and fighting ability Normally you would make the username your characters name so that people know what your character is called when you are posting. When creating the character you can be as imaginative as you want to be - but bear it in mind it also has to be realistic to the forum you are joining - for example if you say your characters age is 23, but you decide to use a very wrinkly old man as your signature and avatar...well it will just cause a lot of confusion with the other forum members (unless it can be explained of course...if it was a magical forum maybe someone secretly snuck in a permenant ageing potion in your characters drink). With your faceclaim you are required to say which face you are using in the profile you make. This is in the character application that you have to fill out before posting, ss well as the other points I have mentioned above. Filling out character application forms should be easy if you know quite a bit about the subject the forum is based on, but if you need any help or have any questions an established member of the forum should be able to help you, Once the character is completed post your topic for approval. Once the profile has been approved and your avatar and signature is done then you are ready to post, |

Here is a Guide to Character Creation here from an old time gamer. Lets not discuss my age, and I will keep this simple. I guess the first place to start with character creation is where to draw inspiration from. Wow, that is an interesting thing. It is everywhere. Perhaps a picture makes you think of a character idea, movie posters, comics, magazines, the wole internet is a playground of pictures. Songs are good too - there are characters in songs. maybe even someone you know. Books...pets, my character Nicks pet is based on a dog I own. Maybe you like swords, guns...whatever base a character around that. The possibilities are endless. Now you have your idea, there are two templates to choose from. Big and small. Both are excellent but I really and wholeheartedly recommend the larger one. The detail is awesome. It helps your idea to live and breathe,. Be descriptive. No detail is unimportant....what is your characters favorite drink? Why? By the way, the aforementioned Nick(my character) like Iron City beer...helps him forget stuff in his past. As a helpful hint, at least for me, I started with the small sheet. Then as ythe idea grew I went to the large template and expanded. It takes time. It is worth. So. Look for ideas. Figure what powers/skills/abilities would go with that idea. Build a background rom that. From a seed a tree. Otherwise, ask questions and have fun. Edited by Nick Randall, Mar 28 2014, 01:26 AM.
